The Return of the King - J.R.R. Tolkien It took me long enough, but I finally finished The Lord of the Rings series.

One of the most memorable things about reading The Return of the King was how I felt while I was reading the battles. My whole body would get tense, which was actually very unexpected for me when it comes to Tolkien. I've felt suspense but never have I felt like I just couldn't read fast enough and have to take a moment to relax the muscles in my body.

Um, the only part I feel like Tolkien could've skipped or shortened was the last fifty pages or so. They weren't dreadful or anything like that, but the ring had been destroyed, the adventure was over so I felt like Tolkien could've forgone the hobbits' adventure in The Shire. Other than that, I really don't have any complaints. It was a great book!
